Abstract

The standard treatment for breast cancer stage I and II is breast-conserving surgery and the radiation of the entire remaining breast. As an alternative, respectively additional method to radiation of the entire remaining breast, Intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) as a partial breast radiation is being investigated as a promising option.
