Abstract

Within the literature research of a systematic review treating the effectiveness and safety of drug coated balloon catheters in coronary heart disease, only one single RCT and one 24month follow-up study were identified. Although the results referring to revascularisation rate and restenosis seem to be clinically relevant, particularly the small sample size of 108 patients leads to the conclusion of a weak level of overall evidence.
