Abstract

Paravalvular periprosthetic leaks (PVL) are a rare but potentially hazardous
complication, which occurs in 5-17 % after cardiac valve replacement (especially in mitral valves). In 5 % of patients PVLs are symptomatic and require treatment. The present report gives and overview of the currently best available evidence of percutaneous PVL closure.
